  1. OPERATION CLARION
  2.  
  3. In late February, 1945, the Eighth Air 
  4. Force initiated a new offensive: Operation
  5. Clarion.  Carried out by 6,000 Allied 
  6. aircraft, Clarion was designed to cause 
  7. maximum disruption to German road, rail, 
  8. and canal traffic in a brief period of 
  9. time.

  11.                     YOUR MISSION
  12.  
  13. Flying low in a formation of six P-51Ds, 
  14. you are to follow your flight leader to 
  15. attack the Koblenz railway center.  Each 
  16. of your fighter-bombers is equipped with 
  17. Bazooka rockets and a single 1000 lb. bomb.  
  18. Once you've hit the railway center, fly 
  19. NE to strafe any aircraft on the ground 
  20. at Bassenheim Luftwaffe airfield.

  22. You'll probably encounter stiff resistance
  23. from the Luftwaffe, as this is known to be 
  24. a very active area.
